Randall Mitchell

Mr. Randall Seth Mitchell first entered Parliament as the elected representative for San Fernando East in the 11th Republican Parliament (2015), replacing the longest serving member of Parliament in Trinidad and Tobago, former Prime Minister Patrick Manning. Mr. Mictchell was made a Member of the Cabinet and has served in several portfolios including Minister of Public Administration, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Minister of Tourism. He was appointed a Government Senator and Minister in the 12th Republican Parliament.

During the 11th Parliament, Mr. Mitchell also served as an active Member of several Committees including Public Accounts Committee; Joint Standing Committees on National Security, Finance and Legal Affairs, and Human Rights and Diversity; Joint Select Committee on the Family and Children Division Bill, 2016; and the Special Select Committee – Nomination of a Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police.

Mr. Mitchell was born and raised in Cocoyea Village and is a true San Fernandian. He attended San Fernando Boys’ R.C. and Presentation College San Fernando where he was an avid sportsman, representing his alma mater in football and badminton. Mr. Mitchell is an entrepreneur and attorney-at-Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of London in 2007, a Master of Laws from the University of Northumbria in 2009; and, was admitted to the Utter Bar of England and Wales in 2008; and the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 2009. In 2017, he graduated with a Distinction in the International Master of Business Administration from the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, University of the West Indies.
