Mr. Foster Cummings was elected to the House of Representatives as the Member for La Horquetta /Talparo in the 12th Republican Parliament. He first entered the Parliament as a Government Senator (Temporary) on January 15, 2008. In 2011, Mr Cummings served as an Opposition Senator for three years and was reappointed as a Government Senator from September 2015 to December 2019.
Mr. Cummings became the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government on January 1, 2020. Mr. Cummings was then appointed as the Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport on August 19, 2020. He was reassigned as the Minister of Youth Development and National Service in April 2021.
Professionally, Mr. Cummings holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. He also has an Associate of Arts in Co-Operative Studies from the Cipriani College of Labour & Co-operative Studies.
Prior to entering politics, Mr. Foster Cummings was also an astute businessman who built an outstanding record of public service.
