His Excellency Prof. George Maxwell Richards, TC, CMT, Ph.D, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has issued a proclamation appointing the location, date and time for the opening of the 2nd Session of the 9th Republican Parliament. In the Legal Notice (No. 1 of 2009) the date and time for the commencement of the 2nd Session is Friday January 9th, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. and the location is the Red House, Port-of-Spain.
This will not be a Ceremonial Opening of Parliament, meaning that his Excellency the President will not address both Houses assembled together. However, both the House of Representatives and the Senate will meet simultaneously. The House of Representatives will utilize the Parliament Chamber, while the Senate will utilize another room prepared for this occasion.
The Order Papers for the respective Houses will be posted on this website as soon as they are available.
