Invitation for Written Submissions – The Whistleblower Protection Bill

Quick Links

The Whistleblower Protection Bill was introduced in the House of Representatives on November 13, 2015 and is now before a Joint Select Committee of Parliament for consideration and report.

The purpose of the Bill is to combat corruption and other wrongdoings by encouraging and facilitating disclosures of improper conduct in the public and private sector, to protect persons making those disclosures from detrimental action, to regulate the receiving, investigating or otherwise dealing with disclosures of improper conduct and to provide for other matters connected therewith.

The public is invited to have their say on how they would like to see this legislation evolve. To this end, the Joint Select Committee is seeking public comment on the Bill. The text of the Bill is available on this website. Additional reference material, including comparative legislation, is available here.
