During the period 13 – 15 September 2012, Senator the Hon. Timothy Hamel-Smith, President of the Senate attended the World e-Parliament 2012 Conference which was co-organized by the United Nations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, through the Global Centre for ICT in Parliament and hosted by the Chamber of Deputies (the Parliament) of Italy.
To mark the celebration of International Day of Democracy, which is observed on September 15, President Hamel-Smith was invited to address delegates at the international conference on the theme “Peace and Tolerance”.
