Call for Submissions – Treatment of Detainees and Conditions at Holding Cells in Trinidad and Tobago Police Stations – JSC Human Rights, Equality and Diversity

The above-named Committee has commenced an inquiry into the Treatment of Detainees and Conditions at Holding Cells in Trinidad and Tobago Police Stations.

The objectives of this inquiry are to:

  1. To determine the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service’s compliance to legislation with respect to the detainees at Police Stations in Trinidad and Tobago.
  2. To examine the physical conditions of the holding cells at the Police Stations.

The Committee is therefore inviting former detainees, stakeholders and interested persons to submit written comments, suggestions and recommendations on this matter.

Members of the public are reminded that submissions should observe the principles of relevance, clarity, conciseness and accuracy.

All submissions should contain your name and address, or the name and address of the association or organization making the submission.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 21, 2018.
