 INVITATION FOR WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS

 Inquiry into Food Fraud in Trinidad and Tobago

The above-named Committee, has commenced an inquiry into food fraud in Trinidad and Tobago.

During the process of an inquiry, a Committee publishes a general invitation requesting written comments from the public. Such comments provide a Committee with vital factual infrmation that assists with acquiring preliminary insights into a matter/issue under consideration.

The Committee is therefore inviting all stakeholders and interested persons to submit written comments/suggestions related to the following objectives of the inquiry:  

  • 1. To understand the extent to which food fraud occurs or is perceived to occur in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • 2.To assess the effectiveness and adequacy of existing systems, policies and laws aimed at preventing and alleviating food fraud in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • 3.To make recommendations for the improvement of standards in the local food industry (both in the short and long term).

As part of its inquiry process, the Committee is inviting all stakeholders and interested persons to submit written comments/suggestions related to the above-mentioned objectives.

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS WEDNESDAY MAY 18, 2016WEDNESDAY JUNE 1, 2016.
