Dr. Rai Ragbir was elected to the House of Representatives in the 12th Republican Parliament as the Member for Cumuto/Manzanilla.
Dr. Ragbir is a medical practitioner who received his MMBS Diploma from the University of the West Indies in 1990 and, in 1993, attained his Post Graduate Diploma in General Practice, a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a diploma from the Faculty of Family Planning in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Ragbir has served as the Primary Care Manager at the North West Regional Health Authority from 1999 to 2003, and later served as Chairman of the Board of the Community Improved Services Limited from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Ragbir was also Director of the board of the Environmental Management Authority from 2012 to 2015.
Dr. Ragbir operates his own private practice in the Chaguanas area and is the founder of the Rai Heart Foundation, an NGO that focuses on charity work.
