Imam Sheraz Ali was appointed a Government Senator in the 12th Republican Parliament on April 27, 2021.
Imam Ali is the Imam of the Nur-e-Islam Masjid in San Juan. He holds a B.Sc Agriculture (Upper Second Class Honours) from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and a B.A. in Arabic Studies (1st Class Honours) from the Darul Uloom, Trinidad and Tobago Ltd. He went on to attain an M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Imam Ali has served in several posts over the years. He was Chairman of Concerned Muslims of Trinidad and Tobago and Director of the National Schools Dietary Services Ltd, the Darul Home for Children, the Muslim Credit Union, the Caroni Green Ltd. (2013-2015) and the Trinidad and Tobago Cocoa Development Company Ltd.
