Rev. Joy Abdul-Mohan

Rev. Joy Evelyn Abdul-Mohan was first appointed an Independent Senator on April 15, 2014.

Reverend Abdul-Mohan, a clergy of the Presbyterian Church, received her Liceniate in Theology (L.Th) at St  Andrew’s Theological College, Trinidad and Tobago, in 1987. She was ordained as a Minister of Words and Sacrament of the Presbyterian Church of Trinidad and Tobago in 1989 and in 1993 received her Masters of Arts Degree (MA) from Princeton Theological Seminary, USA.
During her 25 years as a minister she served many pastoral regions and held high positions in several institutions including principal of St Andrew’s Theological College.

Rev. Abdul-Mohan was the first local woman to graduate from the ministerial programme at St. Andrew’s Theological College, and the first such trained woman to be Ordained in the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad and Tobago. She is originally from  Princes Town, has two brothers, and is married to Darryl Joseph Mohan.
