Attorney General, Sen. the Hon. John Jeremie, who took the Ministerial oath of office on Friday May 29th at President's House, took the oath of appointment as a Senator during a sitting of the Senate on Tuesday June 2, 2009. This is Mr. Jeremie's second term as Attorney General, having previously served in that capacity between November 2003 and November 2007, following which he served as Trinidad and Tobago's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
