PAC to examine the Report of the Auditor General

Members of the public and media are invited to attend the Twentieth (20th) Meeting of the Public Accounts Committee which will be held on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Hamilton Maurice Room, Mezzanine Floor, Office of the Parliament, International Waterfront Centre, 1A Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.

The Committee will be focusing its attention on the Ministry of Finance and the Economy, and will be examining the Report of the Auditor General on the Public Accounts of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago for the financial year 2013.

In this Report, the Auditor General identified certain areas of concern in the Ministry of Finance and the Economy as follows:

  • expenditure control in General Administration, Treasury and the Customs and Excise Divisions;
  • training by the Treasury Division for accounting personnel across Ministries and Departments; and
  • implementation of the Integrated Financial Management Information System.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and the Economy, Mr. Vishnu Dhanpaul will appear on behalf of the Ministry (along with a team of technocrats) to respond to issues raised by the Committee.
