Post Election Seminar

Trinidad and Tobago Parliamentarians will participate in a two day Post Election Seminar on Parliamentary Practice and Procedure, which will take place in the Parliament Chamber, The Red House, Port-of-Spain on Tuesday June 24 and Wednesday June 25, 2008. This workshop is organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), in collaboration with the CPA Headquarters in London. Each day’s sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 4:30 p.m.

At this seminar local, regional and international facilitators will present papers and foster discussion among members on a wide range of Parliamentary topics including the relationship between Parliament and the Media, the Role of the Presiding Officer, and the Committee System.

Among the facilitators are Parliamentarians from the United Kingdom, St. Lucia and Jamaica, procedural clerks from Canada, former and current Trinidad and Tobago Parliamentarians and representatives of the Integrity Commission and the Media Association of Trinidad and Tobago.

This workshop is not open to the media.
